Chemistry

The Engineering Chemistry Laboratory is an essential component of the engineering curriculum, designed to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding the principles and applications of chemistry in various engineering disciplines. This state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with modern instruments and facilities, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students to explore the fascinating world of chemical reactions and materials.

Our Objectives

Practical Learning: We aim to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications by engaging students in practical experiments. This approach helps them develop a deeper understanding of chemical processes and their relevance in engineering practices.

Enhancing Analytical Skills: Through various experiments and analytical techniques, students hone their problem-solving and analytical skills, critical for success in their engineering careers.

Safety First: Safety is our utmost priority. We ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, and our laboratory is equipped with safety measures to protect students and staff during experiments.

Experiments and Activities

Chemical Reactions: Students explore various types of chemical reactions, including acid-base reactions, precipitation reactions, and redox reactions, to gain insights into their applications in engineering processes.

Water Analysis: Understanding the importance of water quality, students analyze water samples using different methods to determine chemical parameters like pH, dissolved oxygen, hardness, and impurities.

Environmental Studies: Students conduct experiments related to environmental pollution and remediation, learning about pollution control measures and sustainable practices.

Industrial Visits: Occasionally, we organize industrial visits to chemical manufacturing plants, providing students with real-world exposure to chemical processes and industrial applications.

Laboratory Rules and Guidelines

Safety First: Students must follow all safety rules and guidelines while working in the laboratory. Proper attire, including lab coats and safety goggles, is mandatory.

Pre-lab Preparation: Students should come prepared with a clear understanding of the experiment's objectives and procedures to make the most of the laboratory session.

Equipment Handling: Handle laboratory equipment with care, and report any malfunction or damage to the lab instructor immediately.

Cleanliness: Keep the workstations clean and tidy. Clean up the area after completing the experiment and dispose of waste properly.

No Eating or Drinking: Food and beverages are strictly prohibited in the laboratory to prevent contamination and accidents.
